There is currently a critical shortage of eating disorder treatment providers in Egypt. This shortage contributes to long wait times, limited access to specialized care, and uneven quality of treatment.
In addition, a very large underprivileged population in Egypt, makes the availability of affordable, high-quality, healthcare a necessity.
Ameera Foundation has created the Eating Disorder Provider Scholarship Program. It is open to both currently practicing therapists and dietitians. It will fund the certification to allow these practitioners to treat eating disorder patients in Egypt, to decrease the current shortage of providers. Each scholarship recipient will be assisted in finding immediate employment after completing the certification. In addition, they will commit to a certain number of pro-bono patients.
Ultimately, this scholarship is intended to address both major issues currently facing eating disorder patients in Egypt.
We currently need donors and sponsors in order to make this scholarship a success. Every individual scholarship will cost approximately $2000 and take approximately 6 months to complete. Our goal is to fund 10 scholarships a year: 5 therapists & 5 dietitians.
We are hoping for corporate donors & sponsors, but of course we would love individual donors as well! To donate, use the button below. For more information, please contact us at: info@ameerafoundation.org
